Maintain distance physically but not mentally

Updated: May 9, 2024

It was the start of the worldwide crisis which is now known as "COVID-19"

Every country made quick efforts to contain it and issued lock-downs and regulations stating that people had to maintain 6 feet distance from one another.

Sure, this was the right thing to do. After all it helped risk spread of bacteria

But it also increased the distance between people (a distance which is more than just physical)

I found myself from talking everyday to my best friend in person to sending texts everyday to going months with just a single text.

It is not easy to adjust to this new normal.

It is not easy to make this change.

But we have to.

Taking a little bit of effort to hold on to your relationships will be worth it in the long run.

Don't let lock-down be an excuse to skip out on spending time and creating memories with loved ones.

All it takes is slight changes.

Instead of meeting in malls and chatting you could do the same over video call.

Obviously they are not comparable.

But would you not rather compromise and create memories rather than give up the chance to create any memories at all?
